Well, I must say that today I had one mission turn into a whole adventure! I went out looking to buy a bicycle and found myself exploring the city! I took a taxi and bus and walked through the bustling streets of Shenzhen, China. The extremely helpful concierge at the stunning Langham, where I am playing for the next 6 months, first directed me to the bicycle store called Giant. This, he excitedly told me is their most popular respected brand of bike here; I found some very nice bikes at affordable prices! The guy working there was nice and a nosey local came over and helped me try out one of the low rider bikes that fold in half! lol. After that I met 3 really cool ladies at a music school who helped me catch the bus to a different part of town where I found the “Shinning Mall.” I walked around, ate some delicious street food until I stumbled upon the one and only WALMART! They had everything (catering to the Chinese, of course). In this shopping center I met another nice young lady named Cai working in an upscale clothing store and we became friends on We Chat and took photos together. We talked for a while and she told me how she wanted to learn english 🙂 As you can imagine after all this I was pretty tired, so I got a stick of Chinese BBQ Squid legs (my fav) and hopped in a taxi back to Langham. Another great day 😉
